The horses,
first.
Forget the buildings. A stable is really the horses that move through it, and what is asked of each one along the way. Ours is a small thoroughbred racing stable, and we keep it that way on purpose.
Ask where our horses are, and the answer depends on the day. Among thoroughbred racing stables, ours keeps no single address, because a horse belongs wherever their stage of life is best served.
Stand in the middle of it all and a whole lifetime is happening around you at once. A mare in the far field is carrying next year inside her. Near the barn, a grown horse is being asked, for the very first time, to run.
It's a promise more than a place, and a racehorse stable keeps that pledge clear to the gate and past it. From the Kentucky Bluegrass to our trainers, veterinarians and bloodstock professionals we rely on, every horse is surrounded by people who know them well.

Our broodmares, foals, and youngstock are raised on 150 acres of beautiful Bluegrass pasture at Kismet Farms, Kentucky, where they are given every opportunity to develop naturally in a healthy environment.

Racehorses
These are the ones the whole place is building toward. Of all the racehorse stables a good horse could land in, ours runs a horse only where they can be competitive, and guards their future ahead of any single afternoon.

Broodmares
Everything else here traces back to them. Among thoroughbred stables, the serious ones are made or undone in the broodmare band, so we choose ours for class and soundness and a good mind, and match each with real care.

Foals
A foal knows nothing of pedigree or price. They know the mare and the grass, and whether the hands around them are gentle. We spend these early months making sure the last answer is always yes, because a sound life begins right there.

Young stock
This is the hopeful age, all leg and no certainty yet. They learn to carry a rider, and in their own time to open up and gallop. We let each take exactly the time it takes, and resist every urge to hurry.
